Privacy Policy

1. What data is stored?

DoseSimple stores the following data locally on your device:

• Names, doses and purpose of your entries (medications, supplements)
• Schedules, reminder times and intake logs
• Supply information, pen stock and injection sites
• Dose-step changes, side effects and well-being entries you record
• Notes for preparing doctor appointments
• App settings and preferences

2. Where is the data stored?

All data is stored exclusively on your iPhone using SwiftData, Apple’s native database technology.

If you use Apple Watch, data is synchronized directly between iPhone and Watch via Apple’s WatchConnectivity — without any server in between. Widgets and Live Activities read a short summary (e.g. “3 of 5 done”) from a protected storage area on your device. With “Discreet reminders”, no names appear on the Lock Screen or Watch.

3. Is data shared with third parties?

• No entries or health data are transferred to servers
• No data is shared with or sold to third parties
• No tracking, no advertising, no account
• Anonymous usage statistics without health data via TelemetryDeck (see section 7)
• No cloud backup (except iCloud, if you enable it)

4. Apple Health

If you allow it, DoseSimple reads the following values from Apple Health to show them alongside your routine: sleep, steps, weight, heart rate variability (HRV), exercise minutes and resting heart rate. DoseSimple does not write any data to Apple Health. These values are processed only on your device, are never transferred and are not used for advertising or statistics. You can revoke access at any time in the Health app under Sharing → Apps.

5. AI features

Features such as “Ask DoseSimple” and the weekly reflection use the Apple Intelligence language model directly on your device. Your questions and entries never leave the device and are not sent to us or any third party.

6. iCloud and notifications

If iCloud is enabled on your device, app data may be included in your iCloud backup. This is an optional Apple feature managed by Apple. For details, see Apple’s privacy policy.

Reminders are local notifications. They are scheduled on your device and no data is transferred to servers.

7. Anonymous usage statistics (TelemetryDeck)

To understand whether DoseSimple is used and where it falls short, the app uses TelemetryDeck, provided by TelemetryDeck GmbH, Von-der-Tann-Str. 54, 86159 Augsburg, Germany. Data is processed within the EU. Only the following is transmitted:

• a few events without content: app opened, setup completed, first intake checked off, paywall shown (with a coarse trigger), trial started, Pro purchased
• technical details: app version, iOS version, device type, language/region
• a random, anonymized identifier per installation

Never transmitted: names of medications or supplements, doses, intake times, symptoms, weight, Apple Health values, free text or any other health data. TelemetryDeck does not store IP addresses; the data cannot be linked to a person and is not used for advertising. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in a working and improving app). You can object at any time (Art. 21 GDPR), e.g. by email to hello@dosesimple.com.

8. Purchases & subscriptions

In-app purchases and subscriptions (Pro features) are processed exclusively by Apple using the payment method linked to your Apple ID. We do not receive any personal payment data from Apple — only anonymized sales statistics (number of purchases per region and period). Your payment data is processed directly by Apple in accordance with Apple’s privacy policy.

9. Website hosting and statistics

This website (dosesimple.com) is hosted by Vercel Inc. (340 S Lemon Ave #4133, Walnut, CA 91789, USA). When you visit the website, technically necessary server logs (IP address, timestamp, requested URL, user agent) are processed and deleted after a short period. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in stable operation).

For anonymous website statistics we use Plausible Analytics (Plausible Insights OÜ, Tartu, Estonia; servers in Germany). Plausible sets no cookies, stores no IP addresses and builds no user profiles; it only records aggregated values such as pages viewed, referrer, country and device type. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in anonymous audience measurement).

10. Contact by email

If you email us at feedback@dosesimple.com or hello@dosesimple.com, we process your email address and the content of your message solely to answer your request (legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep your request only as long as needed to handle it and delete it afterwards.

When you send feedback from within the app, diagnostic information is included (app version, iOS version, device model, language). It helps us reproduce technical issues. It is visible in the email text — you can remove it before sending.

11. Your rights

Because all app data is stored locally on your device, you are always in full control:

• View data: directly in the app
• Export data: in the app under More → Your data → “Export data” (JSON file)
• Delete data: in the app under More → Your data → “Delete all data”, or by uninstalling the app

In addition, under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection — these mainly concern email correspondence, website server logs and the anonymous usage statistics. For requests, contact hello@dosesimple.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

12. Controller

The controller within the meaning of the GDPR is the provider named in the Impressum (legal notice).
